Pearl Builders Group is a commercial and residential real estate project management company. With over 20 years of experience amongst the senior management, Pearl Builders deliveries a wide variety of projects. We manage projects from construction to property management encompassing a complete design/build. Our work ranges from the management and development of complete new builds, refurbishments and fit-outs for Companies.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.
Responsilities:
- Provide comprehensive financial reporting and monthly updates to senior management of current projects and investments.
- Prepare annual financial statements and supporting working paper file.
- Coordinate and work with external accounting firm to complete review/audit engagements.
- Ensure that all real-estate activities (leasing, property tax, insurance, legal, etc.) are accurate accounted for and accurate cost tracking is completed
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings, including analyzing and reconciling general ledgers/
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows by maintaining internal safeguards for revenue receipts and processing of payments and comparing company and project budgets with actual revenues and expenditures.
- Create and maintain daily spreadsheets, to monitor cashflow movements and projections of ACH and EFT payments, ensuring threshold requirement and liquidity standards are met using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain and update all records for fixed assets and land inventory.
- Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly and annual basis.
- Provide cash flow budgets through coordination with various teams on a project-level
- Update and submit construction draw requests for financing purposes
- Prepare and manage master budget for company expenses and identify any discrepancies for review with senior management.
- Prepare and manage the production of quarterly reports and forecasts for the fiscal year and review with the executive team.
Requirements
- Business Administration degree or diploma and knowledge of Quickbooks, or other accounting softwares would be considered as an asset.
- Minimum 3 years experience in an Accounting, Accounts Payable/Analytical role.
- A thorough knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivables, accounting policies, journal entries and accruals is must.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and construction accounting practices, banking processes and financial data analysis is an asset.
- Ability to process large volume of invoices and payments, while prioritizing competing tasks.
- Able to take full ownership of assignments and work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities.
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) is an asset.
