Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Canadian Work Permit
- Chocolate theory and understanding is required, with minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a commercial chocolate production facility. Experience in molding and capping bonbons by hand, making 3D figures and bars, hand-decorating detailed molds, making ganaches and caramels and enrobing by hand.
- A desire to take on new opportunities and challenges.
- The ability and drive identify areas of improvement in our processes.
- A strong attention to detail.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities
- Working directly with chocolate in various capacities, such as molding and capping bonbons, making 3D figures and bars, etc. by hand.
- Food preparation: making caramel, ganache, fruit purees, pate de fruit, and other crystalline confections.
- Assist with factory tours, chocolate classes, and special events.
- Inventory management and compliance with food safety requirements.
- Complete records accurately and consistently
- Maintaining a clean and organized space, following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to meet AHS regulations.
Salary compensation is based on experience and ranges from $33,100 to $43,500.

cochu is growing and is looking for an experienced Chocolatier to join our "chocolate family". The Chocolatier must have hands-on experience producing chocolates and confections, have worked in a fast-paced kitchen and can handle multiple priorities while maintaining an eye on quality. They have a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and is a self-motivated team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The Chocolatier will advance their skills under the direction of the Master Chocolatier, and must be able to demonstrate an ability and drive to learn quickly and support other chocolatiers in a variety of areas. As well as supporting all aspects of the production of our chocolates and confections, the Chocolatier will also assist with managing inventory and stock rotation, QA/QC, record keeping and maintaining health and safety requirements.
