Reporting to the Director, Category Management and Shopper Insights, the Category Manager is responsible for collaborating with Customer Sales Teams to execute business plans and marketing priorities. The Category Manager will also proactively provide fact-based, market-relevant solutions and insights to drive strategic category growth with retail partners. This position requires a proactive, data-driven approach to category management, fostering growth for both Lindt and its retail partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze shopper and consumer data to evaluate Lindt Canada brand performance and identify key drivers and opportunities
  • Leverage scorecards and reporting tools to identify customer opportunities related to the 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion)
  • Complete and communicate post-event analyses on key selling initiatives and trends
  • Lead retailer-driven category reviews, providing strategies for assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelving
  • Collaborate with Customer Sales Teams and Retailer’s Category Managers to address performance gaps and develop retail-specific solutions
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting on customer metrics, providing insights into performance opportunities
  • Conduct regular analysis of customer-specific data, including Nielsen MarketTrack and Retailer POS data
  • Lead and educate the sales team on category management principles and opportunities
  • Support the development of Gold Standard Planograms and Lindt Master Guidelines
  • Build strong relationships with Category Managers, Directors, and Strategic Merchandising Teams at retail partners serving as a category expert to help achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate with internal Sales teams and leadership for support and strategic guidance
  • Regular alignment with category management team and director to address challenges and drive personal/professional growth
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and ensure deliverables meet internal and external expectations

Qualifications:

  • University degree with 5+ years of experience in Category Management within the CPG industry
  • Proficient in Nielsen tools/platforms and POS/AA systems (LDIA, Circana, Dunnhumby, Retail Link)
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to work with internal and external stakeholders
