GOODLIFE KIDS FOUNDATION- MOVE PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Who is a Move Program Specialist?

GoodLife Kids Foundation (GLKF) has a vision for all kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities to experience the joys and benefits of being active. The MOVE by GoodLife Kids program is a national physical activity and fitness program for youth ages 12 – 21 years with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Each virtual MOVE by GoodLife Kids class runs up to three times per week and will have up to ten Participants joining. MOVE Classes incorporate social time, workouts, dancing, and mental wellness. Our Associates include a team of Coaches and Support Agents. Our MOVE Coaches are fitness professionals with training and experience in working with people with autism and intellectual disabilities. The MOVE Support Agents are there to assist with technology and perform roles such as admittance from Zoom waiting room, muting/unmuting participants, and playing music and videos.)

The MOVE Program Specialist will play an important part in the ability to offer more MOVE programs to more youth with autism and intellectual disabilities across Canada both virtually and in person. The MOVE Program Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the daily operations of the national MOVE by GoodLife Kids program to ensure a positive experience for all. This role also leads the hiring, onboarding and training of all new MOVE Associates. As well, manages ongoing monthly program events internally and externally. Through collaboration this role assists with identifying program needs to enhance program development, retention and sustainability.

GoodLife Kids Foundation is a registered charity in Canada. This position is with GoodLife Kids Foundation and not a role with GoodLife Fitness.

What will you be doing?

Program Coordination

  • Coordinates and organizes all new and ongoing MOVE classes with the participant management platform.
  • Monitors and processes all new MOVE participants from registration to class assignment.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Program Director with implementation of new community partner classes.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with all MOVE Associate Experience Supervisors to execute monthly team meetings and initiatives.
  • Monitors attendance and participation of classes and prepares reports for Program Director.
  • Manages ongoing monthly event to ensure regular promotion of the MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program.

Recruitment/Hiring/Training

  • Leads and conducts hiring, training and onboarding of all new MOVE Coaches and Support Agents in order to meet business needs.
  • Identify and assess hiring needs or training gaps to ensure accurate resources and training are provided to MOVE Associates
  • Manages and facilitates the recruitment and hiring of MOVE Associates through all phases of the process.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of onboarding and training practices by supporting projects and initiatives.

Program Development

  • Assists with program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in order to deliver an impactful national physical activity and fitness program
  • Consults and collaborates on improvement of operational policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the design and generation of internal program documents
  • Collaborates to ensure appropriate promotion of the MOVE program in order to reach more youth from across Canada.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Post-secondary education
  • 1-3 years in program/project coordination experience.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Proven communication, and time management skills
  • Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Comfortable using technology to simplify collaboration and problem solving
  • Highly collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others to support establishing and achieving collective goals.
  • Leadership ability with a passion for helping others
  • Passion for working with individuals with disabilities, specifically autism and intellectual disabilities.
  • A proactive, flexible, and adaptable mindset
  • Access to a space that can be used for online meetings (can be within own home) – space must be distraction-free and tidy
  • Access to reliable internet connection that supports uninterrupted video conferencing
  • Experience with relationship management platforms is an asset
  • Experience facilitating and delivering training is an asset
  • Physical fitness and sport program coordination experience is an asset

Compensation:

$45,000.00 - $60,000.00
