As a Business Development Representative (Media Sales), you are a growth-focused sales professional with experience in media, who has successfully created a positive impact through year-on-year business expansion. In this role, you will work to maximize the revenue potential of your client portfolio, primarily focused on driving new business derived from the sale of media advertising vehicles (Cinema, OOH and digital) as well as meeting and event venues within the Cineplex eco-system.

You are a strategic and innovative individual, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and you are a creative collaborator who uses research, data and excellent storytelling to help your clients maximize their impact on their consumers.

This is a hybrid position (in the office minimum 3 days per week). This position is located at the Vancouver office.

Starting salary: $65,000 and Sales Incentive Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact decision makers in the Canadian retail market through outbound calls, emails, and in person meetings, to create a new client base
  • Identify and acquire new business by creating a strong sales pipeline through networking in person and via social media, research, and lead generation in uncharted territory.
  • Deliver engaging presentations that blend data, research, and storytelling in PowerPoint, captivating both small and large audiences. You'll be a master at showcasing the value of our products and platform.
  • Develop innovative sales strategies to meet and exceed targets, including detailed account planning. Actively participate in weekly team meetings and provide proactive call planning and reporting to keep everything on track.
  • Ensure all client campaigns align with the Cineplex brand, reflecting our values and maintaining brand integrity across all advertising platforms
  • Collaborate seamlessly across teams, working closely with media solutions and production teams to manage the sales process from proposal to final sign-off, ensuring smooth implementation and post-campaign reporting.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our assets and venues, including theaters, malls, recreational spaces, and digital products to offer tailored advertising solutions that maximize visibility for our clients.

Education & Certification

  • Post Secondary Education, ideally in a Sales, Marketing, or related field is an asset.

Experience

  • 1-2 years in media sales, with a focus on new business development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong negotiating skills, public speaking, and written communication
  • Highly self-motivated, and solution oriented
  • Media selling and buying including DOOH
  • Fosters an environment of collaboration and innovation and is open to the perspectives and ideas of others.
  • Committed to personal development and improvement.
  • Meticulous Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
  • You have an existing network of clients to draw upon
  • CRM and/or Salesforce experience is an asset
