About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a crucial role in assessing children's development and creating tailored learning plans that support their growth. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Engaging children in storytelling, music, and creative activities.
  • Maintaining daycare equipment and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and communicating findings to parents and supervisors.
  • Assisting with daily routines, including bathing, feeding, and guiding children in proper habits.
  • Collaborating with co-workers and community service providers to enhance the educational experience.

Qualifications

  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role
  • Certifications:
    • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1)
    • Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2)
    • Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3)
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
    • First Aid Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
  • Experience with special needs children is an asset, particularly with children who have intellectual disabilities, behavioral issues, or ADHD/ADD.
  • Must pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
