About the Job

Are you ready to make a difference in your community? As a Wastewater Treatment Plant Worker at IMP Aerostructures, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective treatment and distribution of water. This permanent position offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, where you will engage in a variety of tasks that contribute to the health and safety of our environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate filtration and clarification systems
  • Manage pumping systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Conduct physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge
  • Wear and utilize Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content
  • Maintain plant logs and reports
  • Assist with the installation, assembly, and repair of equipment
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment to ensure normal operation
  • Operate computerized control systems for water treatment
  • Patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, and filters
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate unloading equipment

Work Environment

This role will expose you to various work site environments, including:

  • Cold/refrigerated areas
  • Confined spaces
  • Dusty and hot conditions
  • Noisy environments
  • Outdoor settings
  • Odorous conditions

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Certificates:
    • Backflow Prevention Certification
    • Water Wastewater Operator Certification
    • Confined Space Entry Training
    • Forklift Operator Certification
    • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
    • Water Treatment Certificate (Levels I, II, III, or IV)
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
