This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work 40 to 50 hours per week, driving various types of trucks to transport goods across diverse locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods efficiently and safely.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in top condition.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transport.

Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: Will train.
• Language: English.
• Certificates:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
• Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
• Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, regional, and short-haul.
• Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment.
• Security and Safety: Must pass a criminal record check, driver's validity license check, driving record check (abstract), drug test, and medical exam.
• Work Conditions: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, physically demanding tasks, and willingness to work overtime.
• Weight Handling: Capable of handling more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
• Own Tools/Equipment: Cellular phone.
• Personal Suitability: Flexibility and organizational skills.
