About the Job

This is a permanent position that offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. As a bilingual candidate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and welcoming for our guests. Your experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar role will be invaluable as you take on a variety of tasks that keep our hotel running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Contact tradespersons for major repairs and contractors for maintenance
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances
  • Conduct safety and security checks
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Carry out routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas

Work Environment

You will be working in an urban area within a hotel, motel, or resort setting. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks, as well as the capability to lift weights of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Qualifications

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in a similar role
  • Language: Bilingual (English and French)
  • Certificates: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license
