Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems.
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Plan and manage projects, preparing material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems.
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance projects.
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings to meet project specifications.

Qualifications

  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in project management, project coordination, or design.
  • Certifications: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is required. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association is also acceptable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Experience with Autodesk REVIT and MS Office applications.
