Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate finishing machines or finish furniture by hand.
• Read blueprints and drawings to ensure precise execution.
• Stain or finish wood to specified colors.
• Apply lacquer or other sealers to enhance durability.
• Inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for quality assurance.
• Mark defective parts or products for repair.
• Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood surfaces.
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
• Set up and operate various specialized finishing equipment and machines.

Work Environment

Our work site is a custom cabinet shop and a paints and varnish processing plant. Please note that the environment can be noisy, dusty, and may have odours from various materials.

Qualifications

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role, with a focus on paint spraying.
• Equipment Experience: Familiarity with automated spray painting, power tools, spray gun units, and conventional spray painting.
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Personal Suitability: Must be flexible, organized, reliable, and a team player.
• Transportation: A valid driver's license is required as public transportation is not available.
