About the Job

As a Retail Butcher, you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation for quality and service. This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 32 hours per week, offering a competitive salary ranging from $17.50 to $20.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters to prepare standard and special cuts of meat.
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers.
  • Grind meats and create special sausages.
  • Prepare attractive displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, as well as other meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Sell meats to customers while providing excellent service.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling standards.

Requirements

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiarity with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
