Are you a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic looking for a rewarding opportunity? At Maritime Rescue & Medical, we are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a permanent basis. This role involves working 84 hours bi-weekly in a dynamic environment where your expertise will make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose issues using computerized and other testing equipment.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Instruct apprentices and perform repair work on heavy trucks.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Service attachments and working tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and welding tasks.

Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors in various conditions, including:

  • Cold/refrigerated environments
  • Dusty and hot conditions
  • Noisy surroundings

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in heavy equipment maintenance technology.
  • Specializations in diesel mechanics, medium/heavy vehicle technology, and powered equipment repair.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A and Class 3 or D).
  • Automotive Service Licence (310S) and WHMIS Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training and First Aid Certificate.
