About the Role

This is a permanent position offering between 24 to 40 hours per week. As a pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in advising customers on medications, dispensing pharmaceuticals, and ensuring the safe and effective use of drugs. Your expertise will help improve the health and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or other healthcare professionals.
  • Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage.
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers, including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs.
  • Manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses

  • Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route.
  • Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification.
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.

Experience

  • Experience in a pharmacy setting is an asset.
