About the Role

This is a permanent position requiring 80 hours bi-weekly of your time. As a pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in advising customers on medications, dispensing pharmaceuticals, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in drug products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or other healthcare professionals.
  • Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage.
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers, including a registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs.
  • Manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff.
  • Control the quality of drug products during production to ensure they meet standards of potency, purity, uniformity, stability, and safety.
  • Evaluate labeling, packaging, and advertising of drug products.
  • Lead and instruct individuals in pharmacy practices.

Supervision

You will have the opportunity to supervise a team of 1 to 10 people, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting is an asset.
  • Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route.
  • Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification.
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Eligible for professional liability insurance.
  • Valid driver's license.

Work Setting
