Are you a skilled welder looking to take your career to the next level? McTavish Steelworks LTD is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Precision Welder to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting welding specifications, operating advanced welding equipment, and ensuring the highest quality standards in your work.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• Examine welds to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
• Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
• Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components.
• Utilize oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) effectively.
• Determine the weldability of various materials.
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely.
• Fabricate or repair metal parts and products using previously set-up welding machines.
• Bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams using brazing or soldering machines.
• Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• Experience in welding is an asset.
• Permanent position with 32 to 40 hours of work per week.
• Working language: English
