What You’ll Be Doing

- Chipping, painting, and cleaning deck surfaces
- Handling mooring lines and splicing and repairing ropes, wire cables, and cordage
- Lubricating moving parts of engines and machinery
- Monitoring indicators for engines, machinery, and equipment
- Operating and maintaining off-loading liquid pumps and valves
- Steering the ship or self-propelled vessel under the direction of an officer
