About the Role

As a Montessori Teacher, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement innovative child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Engage children in a variety of activities, including storytelling, music, and art, to encourage creativity and exploration.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, trainees, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for children, ensuring their well-being is always a top priority.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead storytelling sessions and teach songs to engage children.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records and reports for parents and supervisors.
  • Observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues and communicate findings with parents and guardians.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and encourage positive interactions among children.
  • Coordinate activities for early childhood educators and assistants.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any challenges.

Requirements

  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (1 to 2 years)
  • Experience: 1 to less than 2 years in a related field
