Key Responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications and blueprints.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
• Examine welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
• Utilize various cutting and welding techniques, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW).
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
• Determine the weldability of materials and operate hoisting equipment.

Requirements

• Work Term: Permanent
• Work Language: Bilingual
• Hours: 40 to 48 hours per week
• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (1 to 2 years)
• Experience: 2 to less than 3 years or equivalent experience
• Certifications:
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
