This is a temporary position offering 40 hours of work per week. As a Plasterer, you will play a crucial role in our projects, working in various settings, including institutional and urban environments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints
• Leveling and smoothing coats of plaster
• Cleaning and preparing surfaces for plastering
• Curing freshly plastered surfaces
• Finishing corners and angles, and creating decorative designs as required
• Mixing plaster ingredients to achieve the desired consistency
• Moulding and installing ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
• Smoothing out excess compound and allowing coats to dry
• Attaching metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
• Installing vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
• Working at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience: 3 to 5 years in plastering
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Certificates:
  • Plasterer Trade Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
• Physical Capabilities:
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
  • Manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and meet tight deadlines
