WHAT'S THE JOB?
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Summer Student to join our team. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse teams. This position offers flexibility to work from home, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR systems and processes while supporting core transactional activities.
As a member of the HR Service Centre, the HR Summer Student will work with a team of dedicated employees across Canada and will gain exposure in both HR transactional support and project work supporting our HR system. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can take accountability and is driven by continuous growth and development. This role requires excellent data entry skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
This is full-time contract position ending August 29, 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to the HR team and within our HR system to complete day to day tasks including:
- Processing new hires, terminations, employment changes etc. for all employees in the system
- Supporting the benefits administration process and ensuring all employee information is updated accurately and on time
- Helping to monitor and manage shared inbox, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up.
- Responding to HR queries from employees and managers
- Ensuring documents are e-filed timely within HRIS
- Reviewing and updating templates, FAQs, and process guides
- Supporting with data integrity and validation
- Performing miscellaneous transactional as required
- Participate in project-based work focused on enhancing employee data quality in the HR system, or other projects as required.
- Assist in audit-related tasks such as data verification and process compliance.
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources, behavioural sciences or a similar focus.
- Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and identify follow up actions needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day-to-day tasks and assignments.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills
- Intermediate level expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
