• Follow all Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, policies and Recipes
• Ensure that assigned items are prepared according to Sodexo menu standards and following established recipes
• Ensures that sanitation meets or exceeds standards (Client, Health Department and Sodexo.)
• Prepares food for Client and Resident services
• Efficiently organizes and stores groceries, ensuring items are placed in appropriate areas to maintain cleanliness, freshness, and easy access
• Prepares, serves, deliveries & picks up meals as per service style of the facility
• Ensures proper food handling and storage techniques are followed
• Assists with the programming of leftovers
• Always maintains high staff morale by setting a positive example
• Performs role safely by:
  • Learning the safe way to perform the job
  • Performing each task in a safe manner using equipment provided, following instructions and established procedures
  • Reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions to management immediately
  • Supporting the Safety Program in the unit
• Other tasks, duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor, manager, or lead cook.

• Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role (high volume is an asset)
• Formal cook training and/or Red Seal is an asset
• Current Foodsafe Level 1 and 2 (within last 5 years)
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; ability to perform simple calculations and read/follow instructions
• Ability to work under time pressure and meet established goals and objectives
• Interpersonal skills, ability to work together with other members of the team
• Adherence to food safety and health and safety standards 
• Familiarity with dysphagia / texture modified foods an asset.
• HACCP, WHMIS training
• Current vaccinations
