As our District Manager for our Energy and Resource Division, you will provide operational leadership, direction, and guidance to a regional operations team within Energy & Resources. You will serve as the primary representative for client accounts in the area of operation, participates in retention and growth activities within their area of responsibility. You will support and be responsible for financial performance, policy and process compliance, health and safety performance, compliance, talent management and strategic initiatives.

  • Provides operational leadership to assigned region to ensure compliance to operational initiatives and client satisfaction. Actively participates in account retention and business growth and development initiatives. Maintains relationships with client while representing Sodexo in regular service reviews and contract amendments/negotiations. Manages positive and sustainable relationships with our Indigenous partners. Participates in the growth and development of business through innovation in collaboration with sales and support teams. Ensures implementation of client business plans, promotes partnership with clients and fulfils the client contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Manages and is accountable for financial performance of all operations within the assigned region, ensures accurate and realistic budget creation, adherence to financial budgets and expenditures and monitors and analyses financial performance and metrics.
  • Provides leadership in and supports talent development initiatives, ensures appropriate development opportunities and plans within assigned sites. Works with Operational sites to create long term staffing and development plans to grow business. Provides regular feedback related to on-going development of team. Provides mentorship and coaching to leadership teams, manages performance as required. Oversees and monitors performance management, engagement, employee satisfaction to ensure consistency to Sodexo standards and processes as well as optimal engagement and retention.
  • Ensures consistency of operations, compliance of all company and client policies and procedures, government regulations and Sodexo programs and initiatives. Owns and inspires safety culture by role modelling health and safety culture, engagement, and initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in management, business or related field
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5 years' experience overseeing support service operations including food service, Hard FM and environmental services.
  • Experience in other support services an asset
  • 8 years' experience in a senior operational leadership role
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading in a unionized environment and working with Indigenous partners.
  • Food or FM designations – e.g. RD, CSNM, Red Seal, FMP, an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully grow a business
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and coordinate work activities of self and others
  • Strong commitment to client relations, ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and potential clients and establish long term relationships for account retention.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven motivator, agile and collaborative with strong business insights and strategic planning abilities
  • Solution minded, innovative and willing to take calculated risks
  • Committed to learning, continued growth and development for self and teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking and time management skills while managing multiple priorities.
