Senior Market Manager

Reporting to the Director, Product Management, this person will act as a change agent within our constantly evolving team. He/She will be responsible in particular for developing, maintaining and/or implementing program changes in the product category in order to meet the needs of the UAP (Heavy Vehicles) network. This individual must work closely with UAP (Heavy Vehicles) suppliers to develop programs that will allow UAP (Heavy Vehicles) to improve its market penetration. The chosen person will play a key role in achieving the division's business objectives by being responsible for improving sales results, margins and inventories of its categories by optimizing acquisition costs, developing marketing strategies, ensuring competitive sales prices, maximizing available profit margins, optimizing the portfolio of products offered, ensuring supplier management and ensuring optimal communication of strategies to the network.

The Senior Market Manager is responsible for all activities relating to product strategies for their category portfolio. More precisely he/she must:

  • Ensure product line performance by developing category strategies to improve sales, inventory utilization and profitability. (market research, performance analysis, etc.)
  • Build strong business relationships with key internal stakeholder groups to ensure adherence to category strategies
  • Negotiate commercial and supply agreements with current or new suppliers in the UAP network (Heavy Vehicles). Develop and maintain pricing strategies by carrying out regular reviews to maintain an adequate level of competitiveness.
  • Introduce new product lines to ensure a leading position in the market (growth opportunities).
  • Develop a promotional plan and implement specific promotions in collaboration with marketing staff to support sales growth at all levels of distribution channels.
  • With supplier support, act as a product expert to our sales and operations teams (training, problem solving, etc.)
  • Communicate all upcoming changes clearly and effectively to internal partners
  • Monitor supplier adherence to UAP (Heavy Vehicles) policies and performance levels.
  • Contribute to the sound management of inventories by ensuring the creation of category strategies that maximize sales while optimizing the duplication of necessary offers.
  • Act as a coach and establish a progress plan for your team members

Qualifications

In order to join our team, you will need to name a few:

  • A university degree in business administration, marketing and/or a related field of study. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, marketing or other related field.
  • Bilingual
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Must have good computer skills and be comfortable with MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Access would be an asset.
