WHAT'S THE JOB?
NOTE - Position is shift work at a remote, safety sensitive location. Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test before they can be employed.
- Understand all safety procedures of work place.
- Installing/repairing water lines, using hand tools such as pex cutters, drills, and screwdrivers.
- Using crimping tools for water lines.
- Installation/repairing/replacing of fixtures and appliances once the rough in is completed, including showers, toilets, urinals, sinks, hot water tanks, kitchen equipment, washer/dryers, dishwashers, furnaces, and air conditioning units.
- Use forklift, floor jack or dolly to move larger fixtures and appliances into buildings.
- Daily usage of torches, crimpers, drills, hand tools (ie. Screw drivers, wrenches and hammers), pipe bender, manometer, threading machine, die heads, grinders, metal snips and shears.
- Use of glues for sealing and installation of appliances (ie. ABS, PVC glue, pipe dope, flux and paint).
- Work in accordance with the Gas Code and Plumbing Code.
- Pull gas permits as required.
- Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas.
- Maintain site equipment to the highest possible condition.
- Liaise with the Area Superintendent and Maintenance Planner to keep up to all maintenance issues and complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for "curb appeal" of our facility including highway signage.
- Cleanliness and housekeeping of all areas inside and outside the facilities.
- Ensure all site equipment is in good repair.
- Cleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites.
- Effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines
- Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems on site.
- Complying with all of company safety policies & procedures
- Wears required Personal Protective Equipment at all times during work hours.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Valid drivers License.
- Work requires an education background normally equivalent to high school and a Journeyman Certificate in Plumbing.
- Class A Gas Technician certification.
- Work requires practical knowledge of the application of plumbing techniques and methods normally acquired through 5 years of plumbing experience.
- Knowledge of applicable industry and company codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade.
- Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management and decision-making skills.
- Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Able to work individually and as a team member.
- Able to safely and comfortably carry out physical duties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers.
