PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support, coach, and lead a team of Event Specialists to ensure individual and team goals are met
  • Execute an aggressive sales strategy for existing clients and annual sales goals through strategic planning
  • Works directly with HR and other team members to support all hiring and training for their assigned business units.
  • Is responsible for outbound sales within targeted markets for the portfolio each year, as assigned by the National Director.
  • Actively engages in business development for the portfolio, has a proven track record of extending the sales reach of existing clients to properties across Canada.
  • Act as a liaison between event specialists and operating departments
  • Execute forecasting and planning using the company's tools and methodologies. Can support portfolio forecasting in the absence of the National Director.
  • Monitor guest reactions while in house to find opportunities to exceed expectations and handle any guest complaints ensuring 100% guest satisfaction
  • Seek new business opportunities for the unit & department focusing on prospects & cold calling
  • Can effectively communicate the vision of the business unit to the team, rallying efforts of all members and achieving results
  • Is fanatical about continuous improvement and is creative and proactive in overcoming the challenges within their units
  • Can put together all facets of our business from the ground up, including all marketing, systems, hiring & training and business development with minimal support.
  • When required, runs national team sales meetings in absence of the director
  • Contributes to the manager meetings by bringing new ideas and leading aspects for the team
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining Minimum Spends and Rental Rates for properties under portfolio
  • Manages menu development for all properties in portfolio and actively works with Operations, Business Ops and Marketing to ensure menus are increase sales.
  • Actively plans annual promotional calendar for properties, working with marketing and national director to implement

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position brings three to five years of event sales experience along with a proven ability to grown sales and lead a team of event planning professionals.

  • Advanced written and spoken French
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team while continually exceed sales goals
  • Ability to coach on selling to maximize revenue
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Exhibits sound financial acumen
  • College or University graduate preferably in a hospitality related program
  • Knowledge of menu development, menu/event planning
  • Able to effectively and efficiently meet deadlines
  • Has a large client database and can utilize relationships to expand the O&B business
  • Ability to think creatively & critically in making daily business decisions

The Regional Director is responsible for managing the health of their assigned business units. Regional Directors offer mentorship to event sales managers, and support the national director on assigned tasks.
