JOB DESCRIPTION
The Irving Shipbuilding Marine Trades Initiative will offer specialized training in welding, metal fabrication, and pipe trades, equipping students with the essential skills required in today's evolving marine sector. This initiative is an investment in the future of Canada's marine industry, removing barriers and providing training opportunities for new skilled tradespeople.
ISI will cover the costs of all aspects of the training for 80 students for the two-year diploma program. Participants will apply through ISI and be enrolled directly by Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) as full-time students. Program participants will have access to the same supports provided to NSCC students, while adhering to all NSCC policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To apply for the Irving Shipbuilding Marine Trades Initiative, applicants must complete the following:

  • Include proof of highest level of education obtained (Example - High School Transcript, College Diploma, University Degree)

  • QUALIFICATIONS
    All successful applicants must meet NSCC admission requirements, including English language proficiency, where applicable.
    All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
