JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Operations Manager of Industrial Security Limited (ISL), the Assistant Operations Manager will oversee the activities of the Security Supervisors and their teams to ensure protection of the various internal Company's physical assets, properties, and resources in NB, NS, Ontario, PE and New York.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate's key responsibilities would include:

  • Supporting the activities of the Security Team to ensure protection of the various internal Company's physical assets, properties, and resources in NB, NS, Ontario, PE and New York. Coordinate the management of day-to-day operations, including resource allocation and performance monitoring
  • Monitor and direct officer duties to security team (24x7 environment) to ensure effective distribution of workload and conduct regular site visits to access security needs and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Support recruitment initiatives and onboarding process for new Security Officers
  • Providing Leadership, direction, and training to Supervisors and security teams and assist in the development, implementation and coordination of emergency response plans and procedures, including mock scenarios
  • Design, develop, deliver, and implement training. Yearly training syllabus and records management of raining documents, collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance security protocols
  • Write and develop security policies and procedures (Standard Operating Procedures - SOP's). Monitor and analyze security metrics to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Working closely with the Corporate Security team and internal leadership team
  • Building and maintaining a network of information to proactively reduce risk to customer operations and maintains relationships with local law enforcement and private sector counterparts to protect employees and assets. Act as a liaison between clients, security team and management to address concerns and facilitate effective communication
  • Coordinate internal incident management and reporting procedures
  • Regular meetings with the Operations Managers of the various businesses to update on possible risks and what corrective action is taking place and build and maintain positive working relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years leadership experience in Security, Law enforcement, Military or Emergency Response
  • Ability to support and motivate a 24/7/365 operations
  • Strong leadership skills and proven success
  • Experience with training development, implementation and delivery
  • A clean driving record and valid Driver's License along with a Security Officer license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present to the highest level of the organization and groups across/outside the organization
