JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Forest Technology & Improvement, the Trucking Analyst will deliver on a strategy to evaluate and optimize trucking operations across the division. The Analyst will identify and implement cost effective and technologically innovative solutions that will allow the business to grow. They will monitor KPIs, identify gaps, and reduce waste in current operations finding opportunities to reduce cost, drive performance, and optimize day-to-day operations of the business.
The ideal candidate will be based out of Saint John, NB or Fredericton, NB with some travel required to Saint John.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Efficiency in Operations - Work to determine the strategy to optimize our roundwood trucking operations across the division. Determine how to optimize loaded miles, backhauls, trucking utilization, use of yards, payloads. Identify opportunities and work with the teams to implement solutions to these findings. Work to find the proper solution that Dispatch, and other analytical tools/strategies can add to improve our fleet.
  • Administration - Monitor and deliver on fuel burn curves, month corridor reporting, and other reporting requirements that occur throughout the year. Support Earla in the quarterly batch run of routes.
  • Reports and Analytics - Work with the team to determine the key reports and KPI's required for the operation's staff to drive improvement with their contractors and company equipment. Create, build, and support these reports.
  • Technology - Support the implementation of all telematics and other technology required in the trucking operation including identifying, supporting, organizing, and following up on the installation and utilization of this equipment.
  • Supporting Leading Change - Work with the Director to build leading change case, provide feedback, and help with implementation of trucking Calibrate and other initiatives as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an analyst, supply chain role or related position.
  • Advanced skills with Office Suite applications (excel, access, etc.).
  • Ability to use data science and analytics tools Power BI and TMW software is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop actionable insights from data.
  • Must be detail oriented and must be able to handle multiple priorities in a faced-paced environment
