JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Project/Facilities Engineer at Irving Pulp and Paper, you will join a team of highly driven professionals and will contribute to the safe and reliable operation of our mill. You will be given exposure and training related to Capital Project Management Programs and Processes, you will be given opportunities to lead Civil and Mechanical Capital Projects, and you may be required to assist the team in various ways as necessary, to ensure the Mill has our Department's full support. The Capital Projects could range anywhere from installing/modifying buildings, foundations, offices, etc., to installing new equipment such as pumps, screens, tanks, etc. You will also be provided with a training and development program and be given opportunities to grow within our company and achieve your career goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of mill projects from concept to commissioning.
- Lead cross functional teams involving engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, unionized contractors and mill personnel to ensure projects are completed in a cost effective, timely and reliable manner.
- Support facility programs when required.
- Work with a highly driven team to support mill activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate will be a graduate of Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- 1 to 10 years of experience in their field.
- Prior experience in Industry would be an asset.
- Candidate must be self-motivated, driven, & flexible
- Must have good oral and written communications skills
- PMP Designation is considered an asset but not required.
