JOB DESCRIPTION
The Health Coordinator functions as the main contact paint for all health-related questions and requests. The coordinator supports day-to-day operations of the workplace accommodation coordinator and the health specialist and appropriately routes all questions, concerns, or queries to the appropriate parties. They are the first point of contact for occupational and non-occupational injuries or illness by contacting an injured and ill employee following a visit to First Aid. The coordinator monitors all all injury / illmess incidents entered into Intelex to offer available resources (physiotherapy, chiropractor) to ensure employee is provided the best available patient care. They follow through with booking physio, chiro, orthotic and employee eyewear appointments for employees with on-site treatment providers. The escalate claims that require SAW plans directly to the Workplace accommodation Coordinator and refer questions and complex issues to the Health Specialist. The coordinator plays a direct role in the completion of key departmental requirements such as producing/disseminating weekly HSE statistics.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the main point of contact for all intake of health-related activities and questions and provide administrative support to the health team
  • Schedule treatment provider appointments in a timely manner
  • Act as the first point of contact for all first aid reports and injury/illness Intelex reports and contact employees as soon as reasonably possible
  • Liaison with relevant departments to promote health initiatives and programs (eg: flu clinic)
  • Employee education about available resources and health related programs including SAW/ RTW

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge - education, certificates, licenses, registration, and knowledge required
    • 1-2 years in an administrative role
    • Previous experience working in a medical or medical services facility
  • Technical Skills - required skills to apply knowledge
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Windows operating systems.
  • Social Process Skills - required skills for effective working relationships
    • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude
    • Integrity, accountability, and ability to operate with discretion and tact for confidential matters. Including professionalism and empathy to deal with employees in a sensitive and respectful manner
    • Empathy for dealing with employees with potential medical issues for bot h occupational and non occupational issues
