JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for the job. With opportunities for continuous learning and a supportive work environment, your skills will drive the success of our construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative maintenance - Carry out scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Diagnose and repair - Troubleshoot and fix equipment breakdowns, identifying issues and applying effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Complete repairs - Perform necessary repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
- Order parts - Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and materials for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain tools and equipment - Keep equipment, tools, and the work environment clean and well-organized to promote safety and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in heavy equipment maintenance - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy equipment; 2-5 years preferred.
- Education - College-level education as a Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal certification is highly desired.
- Certifications - A valid Class 5 driver's license is required; Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification is preferred.
- Technical skills - Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting abilities, and proficiency in technology (computer systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Critical thinking - Ability to diagnose issues, make decisions quickly, and stay current with industry trends through ongoing training and development.
