JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Commercial (Class1/3) Driving Instructor (In-truck)
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Commercial Driving Instructor will have a strong safety mindset and the heart of a teacher, is responsible for guiding, encouraging, and training new students to successfully attain their class 1 license and prepare them for a safe career as a professional truck driver. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and comfortable working in a fast paced, changing team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow the Rules of the Road at all times
- Provide high-quality hands-on instruction of the companies curriculum and facilitate the learning experience to new drivers
- Communicate clear and concise learning outcomes for each activity
- Evaluate students progress and adapt approach as necessary in a positive and constructive way to ensure students success
- Ensure truck and trailer are well-maintained, safe and ready for work
- Provide appropriate feedback on tools and training info and materials
- Use of relevant technology to support training
- Be prepared to teach in classroom once properly trained
- Maintain student records and reports on individual student progress
- Keep the public, student, self and equipment safe at all times
- Maintain knowledge of regulation, industry and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid NB Class 1 License and live in NB
- Clean Safety Record
- Clean Criminal Record check
- Clean Driver Abstract
Education Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years as a professional commercial driver
