JOB DESCRIPTION
A Junior Engineer in the Build Strategy team will work to develop, maintain, expand, and refine the Build Strategy and associated analyses and evidence.
The Build Strategy is a key source of information to align Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI) functions, sub-contractors, and customers on the approach for the construction of ships at Irving Shipbuilding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate and resolve potential issues to construction
- Perform capacity planning using simulation software for key work centers
- Document all required aspects of the Build Strategy
- Produce and contribute to the creation of the RCD Build Schedule
- Collaborate with multiple ISI functional teams to improve and prepare Shipyard processes for RCD production
- Review RCD engineering documentation for application to and requirements for Build
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Recognized Degree in Engineering
- Experience:
- > 2 years is an asset but not required
- Fundamental understanding of design for build principles.
- Strong technical writing skills, able to author, manage and maintain documentation
- Strong knowledge and ability for Data Analysis & Capture
- Demonstrated capability to analyze engineering data and understand how to translate it into a production context
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively amongst a team and external stakeholders
