About the Job:

We are seeking a Head Coach Competitive to lead all operations at our paddling center. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and youth aged 8-15, and will be committed to creating a safe, diverse, encouraging, and fun atmosphere for all paddlers and athletes. Strong leadership skills and the ability to serve as a positive role model are essential, as well as creativity in developing engaging programming. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in water sports, particularly sprint canoe and kayak.

  • Preference for experience in water sports, especially sprint canoe and kayak
  • Certified ELCC or Canoe Kids Certification (wage increase if completed)
  • New Brunswick Pleasure Craft Operator Certification
  • Standard First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Provide a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Complete the Safe Sport Training course

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
