Summer 2025 Food and Beverage Server (The Woods)
Job Description:
In this position you are responsible for offering professional friendly service to all guests in a Restaurant setting. Whilst providing expert knowledge of the full food and beverage menu. Follows the sequence of service to provide consistent and efficient service to all guests
Position Requirements/Skills:
- Required to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays and may be required to work overtime.
- To work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Report for work on time.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the correct uniform/foot wear and name tag while working
- Familiar with the floor plan and table numbers.
- Maintain up to a 10 table section
- Assist other servers in the clearing/resetting/running of food as needed
- Greets guests in a professional and friendly manner and build rapport by asking questions and initiating conversation.
- Have full knowledge of entire menu and preparations, including daily features, beverages.
- High knowledge of POS and payment system. (Toast)
- Receive payment and provide change and receipt to guests.
- Accountable for cash float and balancing sales at the end of the day.
- Knowledge of SWP & SJP & WHMIS.
- Understanding of Duty of Care as it relates to the responsible service of Alcohol
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take guest orders, ring them though correctly, and expedite the orders from the kitchen in a presentable and timely manner according to the sequence of service.
- Offers suggestions by using suggestive selling techniques
- Acknowledges all guests in a prompt manner
- Ensures all chairs, floors, and work areas are clean and presentable at all times.
- Maintains excellent communication between all team members
- Performs all side work duties as assigned
- Works closely with Chefs to ensure quality service and plate presentation.
- Clear tables when guests have completed their meals or beverages as well as after leaving their tables
- Respond to guests who are dissatisfied and notify a Manager as soon as possible if you cannot resolve the issue
- Follow opening, closing and daily on-going procedures and checklist.
Physical Demands:
- Spend significant portion of time spent standing and walking.
- Work in an outdoor environment
- Lift up to 50lbs multiple times a day
- Carry Trays of Beverages/ Carry 3 plates
Employment:
Seasonal (Early June - mid September); full-time
Starting wage:
$19.00/hour
