What is the opportunity?
As Investigator, Corporate Investigation Services (CIS), you will report directly to the Manager, Investigative Support. The position requires the ability to incorporate financial crime investigative procedures within the framework of a Financial Institution. This task involves processing large amounts of information, the ability to analyze and effectively communicate information in a clear and concise manner. Self-discipline, experienced judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work with volumes and time pressures are essential. As Investigator, you are required to make sound decisions within tight time frames.
What will you do?
- Management of assigned investigation files always ensuring completion with accuracy and timeliness with a particular focus on electronic case management
- Fulfillment of end to end assigned files which include the gathering and reviewing of documents, performing analytics on account transactions with a focus on asset recovery, loss prevention and intelligence gathering in the areas of credit fraud, deposit fraud, fraud against clients, internal investigations
- Ability to develop financial models in Excel when performing analysis in support of complex investigations;
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding and expertise of all processes, forms and templates that could be used during a CIS investigation, i.e., CIS Major Investigation Plan, Internal Investigation Reports, Prosecution briefs for Law Enforcement
- Develop and maintain a network of internal partners, external peers (in the industry) and Law Enforcement to be used as a resource against reducing criminal activity against RBC
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Strong and proven verbal and written communication skills, with relationship building acumen
- Excellent prioritization, time management and problem solving skills
- Analytical mindset
- Intermediate level or higher knowledge and use of MS Excel
Nice to have:
- Investigative and analytic experience
- Tracing experience
- Fluency in multiple languages is considered an asset

Please note: This posting is for a 8-months Summer 2025 Student placement with a start date of May 2025, and end date of December 2025. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2025 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2025), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
