Job Summary
As SOX Compliance Analyst, you will assist the transformation of RBC's Next Generation of SOX, supporting the ongoing SOX control testing across RBC Enterprise by performing testing of RBC internal controls in support of the annual CEO / CFO SOX effectiveness certification. You will also gain exposure to RBC products, services, businesses, and platforms - helping to develop control testing skills, and critical thinking by identifying opportunity for innovative solutions.RBC Internal Audit leverages a unique perspective— with a coordinated view across the entire business—to deliver valuable advice that not only gives assurance, but that illuminates a bigger picture, connects dots, builds best practices and broadens possibilities. Job Description
What will you do?
- Contribute to the execution of SOX and SOX IT control testing, ensuring effective practices are followed and quality documentation is produced by assessing the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
- Develop an understanding of the control environment, analyze information, execute testing and develop and communicate recommendations that will be presented to business clients.
- Work effectively with business partners to drive innovation in service delivery through identifying opportunities, developing solutions and creating lasting improvements to performance.
- Develop an understanding of key risks of proprietary technology in the supported platform, and use knowledge to identify key risks and controls in the environment.
- Receive frequent mentoring from colleagues, including senior leaders from Internal Audit who will support your growth and ability to achieve career goals. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.
What do you need to succeed?
Be Curious. You don't have to have an audit or accounting background in order to be successful here. What we look for is someone who has an interest in understanding and learning about auditing principles and techniques. Someone who is able to think critically and isn't afraid to recommend an approach or challenge others' opinions in a constructive manner. Someone who has a passion for learning and personal development, and wants to spend their term collaborating with a diverse group of talented individuals.
Be Tech-Savvy. Internal Audit is a leader in finding innovative ways to use technology to be more efficient and impactful. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel, is required. Experience with data analytics tools such as Python and visualization tools like Tableau are also an asset.
Be Adaptable. We are a busy part of RBC where there is always a lot on the go. We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamically changing environment with strong project management skills, allowing you to multi-task, prioritize and work independently under tight timelines.
Be Collaborative. Internal Audit is a supportive and welcoming environment, and we are looking for team players who proactively seek out development opportunities. Someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. Someone who demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to work effectively with people across the organization.
