Why We're Hiring This Role

We're launching more direct booking websites than ever-and each plays a crucial role in our clients' success. We're looking for a talented Front End WordPress Developer who specializes in translating Figma designs into fast, elegant websites that are optimized for performance and conversion.

Who You Are

You bring Figma designs to life with pixel-perfect precision
You specialize in front-end development and love building high-converting websites that are fully optimized for both desktop and mobile experiences
You know Elementor Pro (or similar tools) inside out and work confidently within WordPress
You think in systems-layouts, hierarchy, spacing, modularity-and bring a strong sense of UI/UX design standards
You're comfortable navigating Figma files, interpreting design systems, and making responsive adaptations
You value collaboration and feedback, and enjoy refining builds to enhance performance and consistency
Ideally, you're based in or near Guelph, ON and open to occasional in-office days and team events-but we also welcome remote talent from anywhere in Ontario.

Summary of Role

As our WordPress Developer, you'll bring approved Figma designs to life as responsive, high-converting WordPress websites. You'll collaborate closely with our UX Design Lead to ensure accurate implementation, adapting layouts for mobile as needed before development begins. You'll also handle Property Management System (PMS) integrations via APIs, optimize technical SEO, and contribute to building scalable, modular frameworks for future projects.

Key Responsibilities

Transform desktop Figma prototypes into fully responsive WordPress sites using Elementor Pro
Adapt and optimize layouts in Figma for mobile views prior to build
Navigate Figma confidently to interpret design systems, extract styles, and ensure consistency
Enhance and maintain the HiddenGem Elementor Theme Kit (colors, styles, templates)
Integrate PMS platforms (e.g., Guesty) via APIs and plugin tools
Apply technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, metadata, image optimization)
Troubleshoot bugs and collaborate with design and marketing teams on iterations
Support our move toward a more scalable development framework (templated builds, repeatable modules)

Qualifications

2+ years experience building front-end WordPress websites
Proficient with Elementor Pro or similar visual page builders
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and foundational JavaScript
Intermediate Figma skills: navigating designs, extracting layout specs, adjusting for responsiveness
Proven experience integrating APIs and external tools into WordPress environments
Knowledge of web accessibility, SEO basics, and responsive best practices
Solid communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset

Nice-to-Haves

Experience creating custom WordPress plugins
Speed optimization expertise (caching, lazy loading, etc.)
Knowledge of Schema markup & advanced SEO
Experience with Git/version control workflows

Compensation & Perks

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000/year depending on experience
