Position Summary:
We are seeking a full time Facility Engineer to join our Facilities team in Calgary, Alberta. The Facilities team is a multi-disciplinary team using Agile Project Management. The Facility Engineer will provide assistance with surface facility design execution, project optimization, cost reduction initiatives, vendor identification and selection, and technical inputs for regulatory applications. As the project progresses, the Facility Engineer will be engaged in detailed design, commissioning and operations planning for E3's operations with a focus on cost reduction and assurance of a safe operation.

Mandate:
Execute Facility Engineering deliverables in support of the E3 surface facility team.
Responsibilities:
1. Take on a variety of projects. Establish the course of action necessary to successfully complete an assigned project.
2. Establish acceptance criteria to evaluate and select contractors and fabricators.
3. Write clear and detailed scopes of work for third party contractors.
4. Provide coordination and communication support by acting as a liaison between project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
5. Review vendor and subcontractor quotations, drawings and specifications for technical adequacy and conformance with project requirements.
6. Provide project execution support during the planning, design and construction stages of the project.
7. Support engineering design and review of engineering deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, line lists, data sheets, material selection, technical specifications, design calculations, and equipment lists to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations while reviewing engineering designs for accuracy, constructability and cost-effectiveness.
8. Complete comparative studies and make recommendations that meet corporate economic, CAPEX and OPEX goals.
9. Participate in the assessment and selection of materials for a severe service operating environment.
10. Support schedule and budget management by monitoring project progress, tracking milestones, costs, and potential risks to ensure adherence to the project schedule and budget. Proactively identify issues and implement corrective actions.
11. Support development, implementation and maintenance of discipline design standards, specifications and procedures.
12. Participate in risk management by working to identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution, including safety, environmental, and operational risks.
13. Participate in the development of intradepartmental processes which align teams and support how work is executed at E3.
14. Execute work following Agile methodology and promote a positive team culture.
Education & Experience:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience working on facilities projects in the areas of manufacturing, power generation, the oil and gas industry or industrial water treatment.
2. Mechanical engineering expertise is as asset.
3. Agile project execution experience is an asset.
4. Experience working with an operations team is an asset.
5. Demonstrated engineering experience in some or all these areas:
- Wellpad and pipeline piping design.
- Vessel design for two phase separation.
- Acid gas compression.
- Tank design and vapour recovery units.
- Power generation and distribution.
- System Hydraulics and Pump sizing.
- Design in sour gas or other corrosive environments.
- Materials and coatings selection. Experience with non-metallic materials is an asset.
- Instrumentation and controls experience is an asset.
- Risk assessments including resolution and close out.
6. Understand the OH&S, AER regulatory, Pressure Vessel and Codes and Standards requirements from regulating agencies in Alberta.
7. Knowledge of design codes and how to apply them (ASME, CSA, API, NACE).
8. Ability to develop specifications for piping, valves, fittings, rotating equipment, and vessels, or the ability work with a third party to develop specifications.
