Location: Pickering, ON (Hybrid)
Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the replacement of multiple step-up and step-down transformers at the nuclear plant. This project involves the full lifecycle of transformer replacement, currently advancing into the detailed design and installation preparation phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and review the detailed design, installation, and commissioning phases for transformer replacement.
- Ensure compliance with ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standards for all associated systems and equipment.
- Coordinate integration of electrical systems across multidisciplinary teams, including interface with pumps, cooling systems, instrumentation, and high-voltage (HV) cabling.
- Oversee connection methodologies, including the Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) systems, between generators and step-up transformers.
- Collaborate with site teams and vendors to ensure the design is installation-ready and aligned with plant safety and operational requirements.
Requirement:
- Proven experience working with high-voltage systems (e.g., power plants, substations, transmission/distribution networks).
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with step-up and step-down transformers in the engineering phase (commissioning experience is a plus).
- Direct experience with Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) systems and generator-transformer interfaces.
- In-depth knowledge of ESA and CSA standards relevant to transformer systems and auxiliary equipment.
