What You'll Be Doing:
- Quality Assurance & Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction and mentorship on municipal infrastructure projects.
- Integrate emerging technologies and maintain compliance with current regulations.
- Lead project reviews, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project Procurement & Business Development
- Lead proposal development and secure new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the firm at conferences, networking events, and strategic meetings.
- Staff Development & Team Management
- Mentor, manage, and develop engineering staff to foster career growth.
- Support recruitment, training, and performance evaluation processes.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performing team culture and a strong health & safety mindset.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Oversee the successful execution of municipal infrastructure projects from planning to close-out.
- Manage team resourcing, project timelines, costs, and risks.
- Ensure projects align with regulatory standards and client expectations.
- Strategic Leadership & Department Collaboration
- Contribute to long-term departmental strategy and planning.
- Collaborate across departments to promote shared goals and service excellence.
- Align departmental initiatives with company mission, vision, and values.
- Financial Oversight
- Monitor group and project budgets to meet profitability and performance targets.
- Ensure staff are meeting project milestones and financial goals.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience, including:
- At least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Strong background in project delivery, technical design, and risk management.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, municipal planning, environmental guidelines, and construction practices.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, proposals, and client communications effectively.
- In-depth understanding of applicable legislation (e.g., Ontario Health and Safety Act).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Committed to client service and timely, effective communication.
