Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our technical design and plant floor leadership team. The main function of the Manufacturing Engineer is to execute and supervise the fabrication and production of parts and assemblies while providing leadership to the shop floor team and adhering closely to Muma work processes and ISO quality standards.

About the Position
Responsibilities
Reporting to the President, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Routing and Estimation: Lead new business growth and quotation activities by providing detailed routing and estimation to include processing requirements, set up times, cycle times, detailed bill of materials and tooling requirements.
- Product Design & Engineering: Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks software proficiently to design/engineer products to customer specifications including fit, form and function under Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) best practices.
- Process of Manufacturing: Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, and fabrication processes, as well as tooling and production equipment to meet strict customer specifications and ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Equipment Programming: Program CNC laser, forming and machining equipment using proprietary software.
- Supervising / Leading: Team player and effective communicator with ability to lead, supervise and coach team members as needed. Self-starter who is positive, professional and organized
- Scheduling: Drive shop floor scheduling and staffing requirements by leveraging real-time Epicor ERP data.
- Driving Quality & Efficiency: Works closely with QA team to ensure 100% compliance to customer quality standards. Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

- Fluently apply mathematical concepts and calculations as related to engineering, operations and finance
Computer Skills
- Proficiently work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project Management), AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ERP systems (Epicor an asset), CAM software (eg. Fusion 360) and proprietary equipment software such as BySoft (laser and press brakes).
Problem Solving / Decision Making
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment by effectively setting priorities and executing strategically
- Understand and apply the "5 Why" methodology,
- Analyse problems, research and identify root causes and find solutions,
- Creatively find robust and effective solutions to problems and make decisions/recommendations within scope of this role
Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or related field with concentration in Mechanical or Industrial
- Minimum 5 years working experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
