Our challenge
We are seeking a hands-on, highly skilled, and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior DBA with Mongo DB. As a key member of our engineering team, candidate will play a crucial role in the development. As the successful candidate will partner with key business stakeholders, understand the business drivers, and focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data processing pipelines to support our organization's data needs and advance our capabilities pertaining to data engineering.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax is CAD $110k - CAD $115K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Designing, modeling, mapping, and architecting high-performance and scalable MongoDB/NoSQL databases
- MongoDB DBA-level experience (sharding, scaling, replication, admin, etc.)
- MongoDB advanced schema optimization and querying
- Experience with event driven architecture and synchronization of data with changestreams (bidirectional)
- Data sync, aggregations, and migrations with data transformations and normalization
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture and administration, including advanced schema optimization and querying techniques.
- Proficient in designing, modeling, and mapping high-performance, scalable databases.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and the ability to implement and manage data synchronization using MongoDB Change Streams.
- Familiarity with tools for monitoring and managing MongoDB databases (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js for database interactions and transformations.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience working with MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with demonstrable skills in sharding, scaling, and replication.
