About the Company?

Our client is an insurance company. They are looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting who will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This individual will lead the end-to-end process of preparing financial statements and regulatory filings and provide high-impact reporting and analysis to the executive team, Board of Directors, and regulators. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting foundation, an analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to process improvement and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who excels in dynamic environments and communicates effectively with senior stakeholders.

About the Opportunity?

  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual IFRS financial reporting, including significant interaction with external advisors and service organizations.

  • Act as a key contact with external regulatory bodies and industry groups to provide feedback on significant accounting issues and financial reporting matters.

  • Communicate complex subject matter clearly and concisely through strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Research and document technical accounting issues and upcoming regulatory requirements and analyze impacts to financial statements and business operations.

  • Oversee control environment around financial statements and regulatory returns.

  • Drive continuous improvement in the financial reporting process, leveraging technology and automation where possible.

  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment through coaching and leadership.

About You?

  • University Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CA) accounting designation

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting or public accounting

  • Experience preparing, reviewing or auditing OSFI Regulatory Returns

  • Experience preparing financial statements under IFRS 17

  • Proven people leadership and team development capabilities

Salary Range?

$130,0000 - $140,000 /year
