Job Summary

The Coordinator, Learning and Compliance - Training and Development is responsible for handling all learning and compliance initiatives at both CN Training Centers as well as numerous training initiatives across the network. This includes logistics activities such as overseeing transportation, accommodations, and meals for up to 400 students per week that attend training in person. In addition, the role handles and oversees rules expiration dates for Transportation and Engineering employees, which are government regulated, to ensure every employee recertifies before expiration. Moreover, the incumbent is accountable for forecasting months in advance to plan for upcoming expiration dates while also weighing business impact and not hindering operations by scheduling training for too many employees from one terminal at a time. The incumbent is required to handle learning and compliance activities including forecasting, arranging training sessions, uploading records, and auditing the Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain data compliance. The position supports logistics, training, and accounting for third-party companies whose employees must be trained to work on CN Track.

Main Responsibilities
Oversee Campus Logistics

Collaborate with functional managers to forecast, plan, and schedule training in Canada and the Unites States (U.S.)

Oversee and handle government mandated rules expiration dates and ensure employees are scheduled and have attended their required training

Organize flights, hotels, and transportation to support up to 400 trainees a week attending both training centers

Oversee campus training material and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stock levels

Investigate initiatives to streamline logistics and promote cost savings

Oversee other training initiatives including but not limited to First Aid Training scheduling and auditing, the Railroader Certification Program (RRCP), CN Safety Leadership Training, and campus tours

Schedule third party training courses, including uploading training records and assigning certifications based on completed training

Provide support with the campus facility and building maintenance tickets

Learning Management System

Utilize the LMS to document training records

Assign appropriate certifications in the LMS based on compliance requirements

Strategize processes that link logistics and LMS to improve campus operations

Analyze LMS reporting to audit and plan training initiatives

Troubleshoot training issues in the LMS and support employees through the investigation

Campus Accounting

Handle campus accounts payable and ensure payments are correct and on-time

Train and develop new hire employees to confidently submit their own expense claims

Audit and approve new hire training expenses

Invoice third party companies for CN Rules Training

Support instructor contracts and their expense claims

Learning Compliance

Maintain training dashboards and reports with relevant data, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Utilize Microsoft Visual Basics (VBA) macros and PowerBI dashboards to complete logistics activities and support training compliance

Comprehend compliance requirements for Transportation, Engineering, and Mechanical

Audit training records to uphold learning compliance

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress. The role requires minimal travel (5%) within Canada and the U.S.

Requirements
Experience

Logistics or Learning Management

Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or learning management

Education/Certification/Designation

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel (Macros) and PowerPoint (executive reporting)

Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, Outlook)

Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)

Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
