Chemical Operator - days (7:00am to 4:00pm) - $28/hr to $30/hr to start

LOCATION: Etobicoke, ON.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma ; additional technical education a bonus
Forklift operation experience ; certification an asset
Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical process related
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude / experience
Ability to interact and work with others in a productive and professional manner
Ability to follow, communicate, understand and execute written and verbal instructions and work orders
Basic math skills
WHMIS trained
Able to lift up to 25 lbs (loading bags into tanks for batching)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for manufacturing Solvent Borne products according to company quality and safety requirements
Load and unload chemicals into mixing vessels using best safety practices
Operate and maintain processing equipment according to company quality and safety requirements
Prepare batches for processing according to batch sheet requirements
Pump solvents into mixing vessels, storage vessels and packaging according to company standards
Test and adjust viscosity of finished products
Operate forklift
Inform Department Lead Hand of any raw materials or supplies needed
Clean and organize necessary areas, including equipment
Perform inventory count duties
Perform Production Assistant duties as required
Assist other departments as required
Demonstrates the ability to properly operate equipment, follow procedures and written processing instructions for all operations for the area to which they have been assigned
Effectively communicate with supervisor and team
Complete required reports and records accurately
Keep work area clean
Attend Health & Safety and Environmental training as required
