Position: Senior Technical Lead; Manager of Software Operations

Location: This position is 100% onsite, in our Reston VA office, and we prefer local candidates. We are open to W2 direct-hire or W2 contract-based with potential to convert permanently. US Citizenship or Green Card Required.

Main Purpose of Job:

This position manages our team that deploys and operates our proprietary software for initial data classification. The Senior Lead supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization by providing executive management and technical direction on the use of data classification software technologies; manages the information technology and communications resources to support the company's data mining workflow; works with the Director of Professional Services to develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards throughout the data mining process; and represents Actfore in official matters related to information technology.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advisement and consulting services to clients that include best practices on datasets, strategy, etc.
  2. Deployment: Assist customers with on-premises and cloud infrastructure setup for SQL Server and application deployments.
  3. Data ingestion: utilizing our SQL Application, create connections with various data sets for classification and scanning, familiarity with structured data table extractions, unstructured data sets, and various types of data repositories.
  4. Develop complex methods for data inventory (file shares, AWS, databases, xIOT).
  5. Data Exports and productions via flat files, CSVs, Excels etc.
  6. Data profiling & visual inspection: with use of our software, validate ingested data sets to understand contents of files.
  7. Build regular expressions to aid in identifying data via patterns, keywords, and proximity.
  8. Take abstract ideas and create custom SQL queries and datasets.
  9. Creation of visuals from data sets (histograms, pivot tables, pie/bar/line charts).
  10. Build and develop a team to be a force multiplier.
  11. Reinforce a cyber culture of regulatory deadline-based client fulfilment.
  12. Attention to detail - ability to dig deep and perform root cause analysis, understand required changes, and execute plan to effect change.
  13. Attend bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual company meetings.
  14. Technical lead for all Software operations. The team will look to you for guidance and recommendations.
  15. Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization.
  16. Plan, Implement and Oversee CMMC/NIST 800-171 and ISO Compliance.
  17. Understand Cybersecurity concepts and how to implement proper IT security processes.

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills in order to provide effective leadership and mentoring of staff.
  2. Possess impeccable problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills with a solid understanding of core project management principles, particularly in providing litigation support services.
  3. Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively managing many details.
  5. Positive attitude with a desire and willingness to solve problems.
  6. Lead by example and learn all the tools that direct reports use on a daily basis.
  7. The ability to seek out answers in the absence of formal direction.
  8. Individuals must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without accommodation.
  9. Core Hours: 9 AM-5:30 PM. To be successful, driving a cyber incident response culture through leading by example. Working beyond regular business hours to meet the demands and deadlines created by regulatory compliance.

Additional Technical Experience:

  1. SQL Applications
  2. SQL Deployments
  3. Heavy Python experience
  4. Use of Knime for workflow automation
  5. Ability to utilize and refine pre-existing Python scripts
  6. Employ VBA for excel manipulation
  7. Adept at Regular Expression writing

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer information technology, information security, cybersecurity, or related field.
  2. Experience: Five (5) years of experience working in an information technology consultative role working with customers environment, (2) years supporting IT initiatives, budgets, procurements and IT security projects, including two (2) years of direct management of consultative staff and resources.
