Job Summary

The Senior Expert, Cloud Platform Lead is responsible for leading a team that designs, builds, and maintains the cloud infrastructure, focusing on automation, scalability, and reliability. The incumbent works closely with the leaders of development, operations, and security teams to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of applications and services using an Agile methodology. The role requires a deep understanding of the Google Cloud platforms and Azure, as well as infrastructure-as-code and the Development Operations (DevOps) pipelines.

Main Responsibilities

Oversee the backlog and lead the cloud engineering team

Organize the backlog into comprehensive EPICS based on platform products, cross-product initiatives, pipeline improvements and any other cloud related matters that need attention

Decide which Features within the EPICS will be delivered in collaboration with the scrum master and assign user stories to cloud engineers

Attend scrum meetings and help remove roadblocks, provide technical advice or set up workshops with required Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve best solution

Lead the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Community of Practice across CN Information and Technology (I&T)

Drive the IaC Governance and Standards committee made of various expert across several teams

Lead the communication of the standards to the rest of the CN community

Collaborate with Project Delivery teams, the Cloud Operation team, the Security team, and other platform teams

Collaborate with Google, HashiCorp account teams on a regular basis and potentially other partners as needed

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to make tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

Requirements
Experience

I&T Infrastructure and Cloud Based Solutions

Minimum 10 years of experience with I&T infrastructure and networking

Minimum 5 years of experience in design and implementation of Cloud based solutions and practices

Minimum 3 years of experience with Terraform and cloud automation practices

o Experience in DevOps and Git Operations models with IaC, config-as-code, policy-as-code

o Experience writing HashiCorp Terraform configurations and modules

o Experience in programming and infra-automation

o Experience with git hosting providers

o Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly reliable solutions

o Experience with agile practices

Education/Certification/Designation

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field of study, or equivalent work experience

Google Cloud Professional Architect Certification
