What We're Looking For

We're searching for a QA Analyst to ensure a standard level of quality is met and maintained throughout Northern's project development. This role will oversee project quality to ensure that desired requirements are achieved, using tools efficiently and satisfying the different interests involved. This individual is accountable for quality assurance, providing project training to clients and owning the UAT processes.

The involvement of the Quality Assurance Analyst spans the entire lifecycle of a project. They work collaboratively with strategists, designers, developers, project managers, and clients to produce high-quality end products that meet accessibility and quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Testing project features at each stage of development after they are completed by the development team and post-deployment in the staging sites and production sites.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate and perform quality testing activities (across the organization on all development project types) to ensure quality.
  • Continuous learning, establishment, and implementation of best testing processes throughout the business.
  • Build test cases and plans that are valuable to teams and customers.
  • Craft training documentation and project manuals, and facilitate client user acceptance testing and defect management process through our bug management tool, as well as triage and troubleshoot production issues when required.
  • Monitor adherence to project schedule and maintain project task boards with tickets/cards through prioritization and communication between all stakeholders.
  • Triaging support requests and creating working tickets for developers.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or diploma in computer science, related field, or comparable accreditation is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the software testing, QA role, or related testing field.
  • Experience working with manual testing.
  • Experience with testing websites.
  • Ability to understand and translate customer's needs into user stories.
  • Familiar with the latest web technologies and standards including AODA/WCAG 2.0 principles and guidelines.
  • Creative, detail-oriented with strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple tasks with minimum or little supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience and confidence in developing and delivering product training sessions.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Drupal, Magento, Salesforce, WordPress, and/or other content management systems is desirable.
  • Experience with accessibility testing technologies such as UsableNet AQA, WAVE, aXe, and VoiceOver.
  • Experience with Playwright.
  • Experience testing mobile applications.
  • ISTQB/ASTQB or comparable certification.
